MANUU Courses Fee

Choosing the right university is often a balancing act between your heart and your wallet. If you’re researching Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU), you know its reputation as a Central University with a NAAC ‘A+’ grade. But the last thing you want to focus on is: “How much is this going to cost me?”

The good news? MANUU is regarded as one of the best budget institutions in India.  And because it’s a Central University, the fees are heavily subsidized by the government, making it a great option for students who want a recognized degree without the burden of student loan debt.

So let’s break down the entire MANUU fee structure, from Bachelor’s programmes to specialised professional diplomas.  We’ll discuss what you’re paying for, what’s hidden in the fine print, and how to make the most of the payment portal.

Why MANUU would be the Value for Money?

Before we dive into the numbers, it’s important to understand what your fees are actually buying. When you enroll in MANUU’s Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE), you aren’t just getting a PDF syllabus. You are gaining access to:

  • UGC-DEB Recognized: Every single degree is 100% recognized for government jobs and further studies worldwide.

  • Urdu-Medium Available: This is one of the few places where you can study technical and professional high-level courses in Urdu which is a huge linguistic benefit.

  • Modern Portals: Though it’s a traditional university, it has Samarth Portal, so admission and paying fee process is 100% smooth.

Undergraduate (UG) Fee Breakdown

For many students, a Bachelor’s degree is the first step toward a career in the civil services, teaching, or the corporate world. MANUU offers a variety of paths, whether you’re a science geek, a commerce enthusiast, or a lover of the arts

The fees are usually paid on a semester basis, which makes it much easier to manage your budget compared to paying a massive lump sum every year.

MANUU UG Programme Fees

Programme NameEstimated Fee (Per Semester)Total Course Fee (Approx.)
Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)₹4,200 – ₹4,500₹12,900 – ₹14,000
Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com)₹4,850₹14,500 – ₹16,000
B.Sc. (Life/Physical Science)₹4,100 – ₹5,200₹18,000 – ₹20,000

Note: The B.Sc. fees are slightly higher because of the practical lab work and additional resources required for science subjects. However, compared to private colleges where B.Sc. can cost lakhs, this is an absolute steal.

Postgraduate (PG) Fee Breakdown

If you already have your Bachelor’s and want to specialize, MANUU’s Master of Arts (MA) programs are legendary. They offer deep immersion into languages like Urdu, English, and Arabic, as well as social sciences like History and Islamic Studies.

MANUU PG Programme Fees

Programme NameEstimated Fee (Per YEAR)Total Course Duration
M.A. (Urdu / English / Hindi)₹6,5002 Years (4 Semesters)
Master of Commerce (M.Com)₹6,5002 Years (4 Semesters)

Professional & High-Demand Courses

This is where MANUU really shines. Many students don’t realize that you can get an MBA or a B.Ed. through distance mode here. These are the “career-accelerator” courses that usually cost a fortune elsewhere.

The Distance MBA & B.Ed. Fee Structure

Professional courses are more expensive than regular Arts courses as they require more intensive material, project work and training sessions.

MBA (Distance Mode) The tuition fee is usually about ₹10,500 – 12,000 per semester. So for the two year course it will be about ₹42,000 – 48,000. In the business degrees this is sort of a revolution!

B.Ed. (Distance Mode) One of the most competitive courses that you can take. The total tuition for the two year course is about ₹39,000 – 42,000. But if you are eligible from reserved category (SC/ST/PWD) and/or you are woman/transgender applicant, then you can avail a great subsidy and the cost will be about ₹28,800.

Diplomas & Certificate Courses

If you don’t want to take a multi year degree program but only want to learn a particular skill (say teaching English or journalism) our Diploma program will be a perfect fit for you.

Diploma ProgramTotal Course Fee (Approx.)
Diploma in Journalism & Mass Comm.₹4,200
Diploma in School Leadership & Mgmt.₹4,000
Diploma in Teach English₹3,500
Certificate in Functional English₹2,500

The "Hidden" Checklist: Fees Beyond Tuition

When we look at a university website, we often just look at the tuition fee. But as a smart student, you need to budget for the “extras” that pop up during the year. Here is the reality check:

Registration Fee: When you first apply, you’ll pay about ₹300 – ₹500 as a non-refundable processing fee.

Examination Fee: This is the most common one students forget. Before every semester exam, you have to submit an exam form. This is approximately ₹150 – ₹200 per paper. For a course of 5 papers, that will sum up to about ₹1,000 per semester.

Late Fees: MANUU is very strict about deadlines. Late fee (₹50 – ₹500) will be charged if you miss your admission/re-registration date.

Caution Deposit: Some courses have a small caution deposit (₹200 – ₹600, technically refundable after course completion).

How to Pay Your Fees?

The Samarth Portal: You will do everything through manuuadmission.samarth.edu.in.

Verification First: You don’t pay the full course fee the moment you register. First, the university verifies your documents. Once you get the “Green Signal” on your dashboard, a “Pay Fee” link will appear.

Payment Modes: You can use UPI (PhonePe, Google Pay), Net Banking, or any major Credit/Debit card.

Pro-Tip:
Always take a screenshot of the “Success” page. Portals can glitch sometimes and having that transaction ID is your safety net.

Final Thoughts

Higher education is a luxury in the 21st century, but MANUU is one of the few universities which actually cares about its students, and you can finish your 3 year degree from a Central University for less than the price of a mid-range phone.

Your money isn’t just in your pockets, it’s in an institution that cares about your language, your culture and your future. Whether you want to be an educationist or a manager or a scientist,  MANUU gives you the ladder. Just start climbing.

FAQs

Q1. Is there any scholarship that can be availed for fee reduction?

Yes! You will be given priority for National Scholarship Portal (NSP) schemes if you are a Central University student. If you belong to minority community or come from a low income family you can have all the fee covered.

Q2. Will I get a refund in case I decide to pull out?

Yes, but not too much. If you pull out within 15 days of admission, you can usually get a full refund minus a small processing fee. The longer you wait, the less you get back.

Q3. Do I have to pay extra for books (SLM)?

Generally, the study material (SLM) is included in your semester fee. You can choose to have it mailed to you or download the E-content for free from the university website.

Q4. Is the fee different for International students?

Yes. International students are charged in US Dollars and have a separate fee structure which is significantly higher than the domestic rates.
